After the success of last years event, this Saturday, the 27th of September another Taiwan culture event will be organized.
What to expect? Experience Taiwanese foods, including sweets and (bubble-) tea. Crafts, books and music!
Culture market: In the hallway several stands will be setting up shop. Including Yumm cha tea. Mei’s kitchen. Jen’s bing, and Dutch DouHua soy puddings! In addition you can buy traditional Taiwan knifes, buy handmade jewelry or engage in contemporary ink art with black in material an organization which seeks to deepen global appreciation and understanding of contemporary ink practices.
In addition there are music performances:
11:30 | Island within, Saxophone Quartet | With their diverse backgrounds they will take on a fresh, bold take on classical music. A musical journey which will bring your imagination from Scotland, France all the way to the roots of folk music in Taiwan. |
12:30 | Echoes of Formosa, ATM String Quintet | inspired by the rich and diverse cultural landscape of Taiwan several Works which capture the spirit of Taiwanese tradition through a modern music lens will be performed. |
14:00 | The island Sings, Weave duo | This duo will present a poetic reimagining of Taiwanese folk songs, drawing inspiration from the profound success of their recent Taiwan tour. Expect traditional melodies and refined arrangements. |
15:00 | Sound of Young Talents, Duo Teng, Tzu-Tung& Christian Violinduo, Claryiduo, Cherilynne Wang | Several young talents show their performances. to name some of: Percussion, Saxophone, Violin, Clarinet and Flute. |
16:30 | ¡Bom! (Martina and Joy duo) | Joyful performance from the Brazilian Jazz duo ¡Bom! |
